EDINBORO, Pa. — Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal crash that occurred Monday evening on Route 99 near Harrison Drive.
Emergency crews from multiple departments responded to the scene shortly before 6:30 p.m., where they discovered the victim unresponsive. She was transported to UPMC Hamot, but despite lifesaving efforts, she was later pronounced deceased.
According to Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook, the victim has been identified as 79-year-old Loretta Dobos of Meadville. She was officially pronounced dead at the hospital at approximately 7:15 p.m.
In the aftermath of the crash, state police closed Route 99 for several hours, from Crane Road to just before the Edinboro Cemetery, while investigators examined the scene.
Authorities have not yet released additional information regarding the circumstances of the collision. The investigation remains ongoing.
