A lifelong Putnam County resident, Cory was born in Gainesville and built a life rooted in his community. He attended local schools and forged a successful career as a steelworker, most recently at AARE Services, LLC, and previously at Veritas Steel, LLC, where he was an active union member. His colleagues admired his dedication, work ethic, and expertise.
Beyond his professional life, Cory was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying golf and fishing. He also relished exploring culinary delights and sharing crab boils with friends and family. Known for his generosity, kindness, and heart of gold, Cory’s faith as a practicing Baptist guided him.
Cory is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Margaret Lucille and John Robert Ricks, and maternal grandparents. His untimely passing has prompted an outpouring of tributes from those whose lives he touched, celebrating his unwavering spirit and lasting impact on the community.
