A tragic single-vehicle accident on Highway 22 claimed the life of Devere Tucker Eastman, 45, of Dallas, Oregon, on Saturday evening.

According to the Oregon State Police, the crash occurred around 7:24 p.m. near milepost 16. Investigators said Eastman was driving eastbound in a Dodge Ram 1500 when he failed to negotiate a curve, causing the truck to leave the roadway and strike a tree.
Emergency responders arrived quickly, but Eastman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Highway 22 remained closed for nearly four hours while troopers investigated and crews cleared debris.
OSP said the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office, Grand Ronde Tribal Police Department, and Grand Ronde Fire assisted at the scene.
