DANVILLE, Va. — The Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of 33-year-old Demietre R. Brandon of Danville on Saturday morning, October 18, 2025.
Officials report that the accident occurred around 7:15 a.m. on Philpott Road, approximately one mile east of Hackberry Road. Brandon was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Spark westbound when the vehicle veered off the right side of the road, descended an embankment, and collided with a tree.

Authorities confirmed that Brandon was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. Reports indicate that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Emergency responders arrived promptly, but despite their efforts, Brandon did not survive. The Virginia State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine contributing factors.
