The Des Moines community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Jasen William Burton, a devoted husband, father, and friend who tragically lost his life in a car accident on October 20 along Highway 65 north of Bondurant, Iowa.
Jasen, remembered for his deep faith, integrity, and devotion to his family, was described by those who knew him as a man who led by example—always guided by love and compassion. His sudden passing has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of his wife, Shanya, and their six children: Julia, Joven, Josie, Jacqueline, Jessalyn, and Boman.

Professionally, Jasen was a Machine Repair Technician and Engineer Intern at John Deere, where he was admired for his work ethic and dedication. He took immense pride in his craft, providing for his family and striving for excellence in all that he did.
Outside of work, Jasen found joy in outdoor adventures, traveling, attending baseball games, and concerts. He had a passion for life that shone through in everything he pursued, but his greatest happiness came from spending time with his loved ones and nurturing his faith. Friends describe him as kindhearted, generous, and full of joy — a man whose presence could brighten any room.
Jasen’s passing has deeply affected not only his family but also the broader Des Moines community, where he was widely respected and loved.
