The town of Dighton, Massachusetts, is grieving the sudden and heartbreaking loss of 18-year-old Savannah Ryan Salemme, who died in a car accident on September 19, 2025.
Born on May 22, 2007, in Weymouth, Savannah spent her early years in Randolph and Stoughton before settling in Dighton. A 2025 graduate of Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School, she excelled in the HVAC program and had already begun pursuing a career in the field. Teachers and classmates remembered her as a determined student whose positivity left a lasting mark on those around her.

Savannah was known for her adventurous spirit and wide-ranging passions. A music lover with playlists for every mood, she also enjoyed traveling, exploring new places, and had an uncanny sense of direction that matched her eagerness to discover the world.
She shared a special bond with her boyfriend, Shawn Ponte of Raynham. Together, they built memories working on cars and trucks, relaxing at the beach, and finding joy in new experiences. A proud member of 603 Diesel, Savannah embraced the excitement of truck meets and the friendships that came with them, reflecting her love of cars and her vibrant energy.
Beyond her passions, Savannah’s nurturing nature shone brightest in her devotion to family. She adored her younger brother, Leo, and cousin, Aubrey, and cared for them with love and patience. Family dinners, time in the kitchen with her parents, and cheering at local events were moments she cherished deeply.
Savannah is survived by her loving parents, Arianna “Mum” (Ellis) and Matthew “Daddo” Salemme of Dighton; siblings Leo Salemme and Charolette Fornaciari; her father Michael Fornaciari of Braintree; grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. She will also be remembered by her devoted boyfriend, Shawn Ponte, along with his family, as well as the many friends and classmates whose lives she touched.
Savannah’s radiant smile, kind heart, and adventurous spirit will be forever remembered by the community that loved her.
