Dillwyn Community Mourns the Loss of John J. Jamerson Jr. Following Fatal Crash in Buckingham County

The quiet town of Dillwyn, Virginia, is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 59-year-old John J. Jamerson Jr., who tragically lost his life in a single-vehicle crash on Wednesday evening, October 15, 2025.

According to the Virginia State Police, the fatal accident happened around 8:15 p.m. along Rock Mill Road, near the intersection of Arcanum Road. Preliminary investigations revealed that Jamerson was traveling south in a 2003 Ford Explorer when the vehicle suddenly veered off the right side of the roadway. The SUV struck a culvert and then slammed into a tree stump, causing extensive damage.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene but, sadly, Jamerson was pronounced dead on site. Authorities confirmed he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. No other vehicles or passengers were involved.
