Eagle River, WI – The community of Eagle River is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Gus Holzbauer, who passed away on August 15, 2025, at the young age of 23. Born and raised in Wisconsin, Gus grew to be a beloved son, friend, and husband whose presence brought light to every room he entered. Gus is survived by his parents, Steven and Jodi Holzbauer, whose guidance and support shaped the man he became, as well as his wife, McKenzie Holzbauer, with whom he shared dreams, laughter, and love. Family, friends, and community members will gather to pay their respects at a visitation on August 22, 2025, at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, followed by a funeral service to honor his memory and celebrate the impact of his life. The service will serve as an opportunity for loved ones to share stories, offer prayers, and reflect on the legacy Gus leaves behind.
