A heartbreaking incident took place Friday night at East Ridge High School, where 18-year-old Elisha “Eli” Redmann suddenly collapsed in the middle of a volleyball game, leaving students, staff, and spectators in shock.
According to eyewitness reports, the teenager fell to the floor during the match, prompting immediate action from on-site medical staff and emergency responders. The game was halted and later canceled as first responders worked to save his life.

Authorities confirmed that Eli, the son of Trent and Melinda Redmann, went into cardiac arrest following the collapse and sustained a head injury during the fall. His mother shared that paramedics were able to restore his pulse after administering two shocks before rushing him to a regional hospital for emergency treatment.
As of Saturday night, Eli remains in critical condition, with doctors closely monitoring his recovery. School officials and community members have since gathered to offer prayers and emotional support for the Redmann family.
