Effingham County Mourns the Loss of 26-Year-Old Victory Lewis Mason in Fatal Crash
EFFINGHAM COUNTY, Ga. — Tragedy struck early Sunday morning, October 19, 2025, when Victory Lewis Mason, 26, of Port Wentworth, lost his life in a devastating car crash.

According to the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, Mason was driving a Ford Mustang eastbound on Kolic Helmey Road shortly after midnight when he failed to stop at a stop sign. The vehicle veered off the roadway and collided with multiple buildings in a nearby residential area. Mason was ejected from the vehicle during the impact and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities believe that speed and alcohol may have been factors contributing to the crash.

Friends and family remember Mason as a bright and caring individual whose energy and kindness touched everyone around him. “Victory was full of life and laughter. He brought light to every room he entered,” a family member said. His sudden passing has left a profound sense of loss within the community.
