Born in 1960 in St. Rose, Louisiana, Elaine was the proud matriarch of the Jefferson family, raising three sons — Justin, Rickey Jr., and Jordan — all of whom went on to play professional football. Known for her unwavering love and sacrifice, she was the “unsung hero” behind Justin’s journey to stardom, often seen cheering from the stands at U.S. Bank Stadium, proudly donning her son’s No. 18 jersey.
In a past interview with ESPN, Elaine once said, “Justin plays for his family, and I’m proud of him for bringing joy to everyone.” Her dedication was especially inspiring, as she single-handedly raised her sons after a divorce while working at a local school to support their athletic dreams.
Justin, now 26, who leads the NFL this season with 1,200 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, shared a heartfelt message on Instagram alongside a family photo:
