EUGENE, Ore. — The Eugene Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a 21-year-old Springfield man Friday evening in a Walmart parking lot.
Authorities confirmed the victim as Jaime Javier Lagarda-Govea, who was shot outside the Walmart located at 4550 W. 11th Avenue around 5:18 p.m. on September 5, 2025. Despite life-saving efforts by emergency responders, Lagarda-Govea was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to investigators, the suspect remained at the scene following the shooting and has been cooperative with authorities. No arrests have been made as detectives continue to piece together the circumstances leading to the tragedy.
