EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Authorities have released the name of the woman who died after a Friday morning crash on the Lloyd Expressway.
The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 72-year-old Pamela Appel. Deputies said she was taken to Deaconess Midtown Hospital following the wreck at Middle McDowell Road but did not survive despite lifesaving efforts by medical staff.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office is still piecing together what led to the crash. Investigators are reviewing debris from the scene, interviewing potential witnesses, and checking traffic camera footage to understand how the collision occurred and whether any other vehicles were involved.
