Father Arrested After Allegedly Shooting Son Multiple Times During Domestic Dispute in Buckhead
A tragic scene unfolded in Buckhead on Sunday after a father allegedly shot and killed his own son during a domestic disturbance at an apartment complex on Pharr Road, according to the Atlanta Police Department.

Authorities say officers initially responded to a call involving a woman and her boyfriend, identified as 32-year-old Durante Schofield, who were reportedly engaged in a heated domestic dispute. While police were speaking with the woman, Schofield’s father, 54-year-old Durante Tolliver, arrived at the scene after being contacted by her.

Moments later, witnesses say Tolliver pulled out a firearm and opened fire on his son, shooting him as many as twelve times in the parking lot. Schofield was pronounced dead at the scene before emergency responders could intervene.

Tolliver was taken into custody without further incident and now faces multiple charges, including murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Investigators have not released details on what led to the confrontation escalating so violently. Detectives are continuing to interview witnesses and review surveillance footage from the apartment complex.

The Buckhead community remains stunned by the incident — a family dispute that ended in an unimaginable tragedy between father and son.
