A female student has died after being struck by a vehicle driven by a Kishugu Training Academy employee on Wednesday afternoon, leaving the academy and the surrounding community in shock. The tragic incident occurred around 2:45 p.m. at the entrance gate of the academy in Nelspruit.
According to preliminary reports, the victim was standing near the gate with two friends when the vehicle reportedly lost control and struck the group. Emergency services arrived promptly, but despite efforts to save her, the student was pronounced dead at the scene. The two other students sustained minor injuries and are expected to recover.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) has launched a full investigation. Authorities are examining whether mechanical failure, driver error, or speed contributed to the accident. In a statement, Kishugu Training Academy expressed its deep sorrow: “This is a heartbreaking tragedy that has shaken our entire institution. Witnesses described scenes of chaos and grief at the academy. “Everyone was crying.
