FISHERS, Ind. – A night out with friends turned deadly early Monday when 30-year-old Noblesville resident Justin Burton was shot and killed inside Britton Tavern on 116th Street.
Fishers Police say the shooting happened just before 2:45 a.m. Officers arrived to find Burton suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Paramedics performed CPR at the scene, but he was pronounced dead shortly after.

Within minutes, officers took 31-year-old Maclean Murt of Fishers into custody without incident. Murt has been preliminarily been charged with murder. Police say the two men did not know each other prior to an argument that started inside the bar and quickly escalated.
Witnesses described a chaotic scene: glasses shattering, patrons ducking under tables, and Burton collapsing near the pool tables. Surveillance video is now a key part of the investigation.
By Monday afternoon, the tavern’s front window was covered with flowers, photos, and handwritten notes. Friends remembered Justin as the guy who “could turn a random Tuesday into the best night of the week,” a passionate Colts season-ticket holder who never missed a tailgate and the friend who always checked in “just because.”
“Justin walked into a room and it got louder and happier, instantly,” lifelong friend Kyle Davidson posted. “30 years wasn’t enough.”
Britton Tavern closed indefinitely and released a statement: “We are heartbroken and cooperating fully with law enforcement. Our thoughts are with Justin’s family and everyone affected.”
Murt is being held without bond at the Hamilton County Jail. A probable-cause hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
