According to the NYPD, the shooting occurred just before 8:45 p.m. on Crooked Avenue between Saint Paul’s Place and Ocean Avenue. Investigators say Ingram was standing in front of his residence when multiple shots were fired, striking him in the chest.

Neighbors reported hearing several loud pops followed by people running. Emergency responders arrived quickly and transported Ingram to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead despite lifesaving efforts.

Police confirmed that a person of interest is in custody, though no charges have yet been filed. Authorities say the motive behind the shooting remains under investigation.

Family, friends, and neighbors described Ingram as a promising young man whose life was senselessly cut short. A makeshift memorial of candles and flowers now stands on the block where the tragedy occurred, as the community grieves and seeks justice.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the NYPD as detectives continue to piece together the events that led to Ingram’s death.
