Glendale police say a man was shot and killed by officers early Thursday after allegedly pointing a firearm at them, moments after contacting a suicide crisis hotline.

The man, identified as 28-year-old Adrian Green, called the hotline shortly after midnight. His behavior during the call prompted crisis workers to request immediate police assistance, according to the Glendale Police Department.
Officers responded around 12:35 a.m. to the area near 8900 W. Maryland Avenue, east of State Farm Stadium. They were advised that Green was armed with a loaded gun outside a residence.
Police said they staged nearby and deployed a drone to monitor the situation. While officers coordinated their response, Green allegedly fired his weapon twice. As two officers approached, investigators say he pointed the gun at them, prompting them to open fire.
Green was pronounced dead at the scene. No officers were injured.
The incident remains under investigation, and officials have not released further details about the number of officers involved or whether body-camera footage will be made public.
