Gold Coast Shooting Today; Four Injured in Gold Coast Drive-By Shooting

Four individuals were injured in a drive-by shooting early Friday morning in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood, according to the Chicago Police Department.

The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Dearborn Avenue, near the 1000 block. A gray Acura sedan approached the victims, who were standing on the sidewalk, and opened fire before fleeing southbound.

The victims—a 22-year-old woman, a 60-year-old man, a 45-year-old man, and a 24-year-old man—were transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Police reported that all four are in good condition.

Witnesses reported hearing gunshots, prompting a heavy police presence in the area. Authorities are continuing to investigate the shooting and have urged anyone with information to come forward.

The shooting has raised concerns about safety in the Gold Coast area, a neighborhood known for its upscale residences and businesses. Community members are calling for increased patrols and measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
