HALIFAX, N.S. — Halifax Regional Police have identified the victim of Wednesday morning’s fatal assault in the city’s North End as 59-year-old Troy Clayton of Halifax.
Clayton was found seriously injured on Gottingen Street, between Charles and Uniacke streets, shortly after 11 a.m. on November 26. Despite efforts by first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy conducted Thursday confirmed Clayton’s identity and ruled his death a homicide.
Investigators say the attack was targeted and are treating it as non-random. No arrests have been announced.
“This is an active and ongoing investigation,” police said in a statement Thursday afternoon. “We believe there are people in the community who have information that can help us.”
Police are specifically asking for dash-cam or cellphone video recorded on Gottingen Street between 11:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Wednesday.
