Halifax authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of 28-year-old Jayden Tynes on Saturday, November 2.
According to the RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment, officers and Emergency Health Services (EHS) responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of Cain Street and Clarence Street at approximately 4:58 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Tynes suffering from gunshot injuries. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to his wounds shortly thereafter.

The RCMP/HRP Integrated Major Crime Unit is leading the investigation, with support from the Integrated General Investigative Section, RCMP Forensic Identification Services, and the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service. Authorities are actively working to piece together the events that led to Tynes’ death.
Police are asking anyone who was in the area between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday and may have dashcam footage to come forward.
