The Hardin County community is grieving the tragic loss of 26-year-old Chace Soignet of Warren, a devoted U.S. Postal Service worker who lost his life in a devastating crash Tuesday afternoon. Soignet was driving a U.S. Postal Service truck westbound on State Highway 327 when he reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with U.S. Highway 69 around 4:30 p.m. His vehicle collided with a northbound Ford F-350 towing a lowboy trailer, resulting in catastrophic damage.
Emergency responders from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), Hardin County EMS, and the Kountze Fire Department rushed to the scene. Despite their efforts, Soignet was later pronounced dead at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont from his injuries. The driver of the Ford was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
