Hardy Community Mourns the Loss of Deborah Lei Ruberg in Tragic Highway Crash

The Hardy community is deeply saddened by the loss of 60-year-old Deborah Lei Ruberg, who tragically passed away following a crash on Highway 3 early Monday morning, November 10, 2025. According to the Iowa State Patrol, Deborah was driving her Jeep Grand Cherokee westbound around 7:14 a.m. when icy and snowy road conditions caused her to lose control. Her vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane, colliding with a semi-truck. Deborah was ejected from the vehicle and sustained critical injuries, ultimately succumbing to her injuries despite the efforts of emergency responders.

Deborah was well-loved by her community for her warm heart, generosity, and the kindness she showed to everyone around her.
