Ringgold, GA — The Heritage High School community is in mourning following the tragic death of 17-year-old Jonathan Arehart, a student-athlete who died on campus Friday afternoon in what officials and family members have confirmed was a suicide. The news of his passing sent shockwaves through students, faculty, and families across the Catoosa and Chattooga counties, particularly as the tragedy unfolded during the school’s football game.
Jonathan, a junior at Heritage High School, was well-known for his dedication to the wrestling team. Coaches and teammates remembered him as hardworking, loyal, and driven — a young man whose commitment to the Generals’ athletic program left a lasting impression. His sudden death has left a deep void in the community, especially within the wrestling team, which he was a valued member of.
