Caldwell County, NC – A tragic motorcycle accident claimed the life of 61-year-old Belinda Diane Sain of Hickory on Sunday evening, according to the NC State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 7:40 p.m. on Petra Mill Road near Icard Dam Road, when Sain lost control of her 2015 Harley Davidson. The motorcycle veered off the road, struck several mailboxes, and collided with a parked vehicle. Sain was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities reported that neither speed nor impairment appear to have contributed to the accident. Petra Mill Road was temporarily closed for about an hour while troopers conducted their investigation.
