CINCINNATI — A violent two-car collision in West Price Hill early Wednesday morning left one driver dead and another on the run, Cincinnati police say.
The crash happened just before 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of West 8th Street and Rosemont Avenue.

Police say a 2010 Ford Escape traveling east on West 8th blew through the intersection and T-boned a 2012 Acura TL heading south. The impact was so severe that Awfwhite Xking Jett, the 31-year-old driver of the Acura, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Ford Escape jumped out and fled on foot, leaving a passenger behind who stayed and is cooperating with investigators.
“This was a devastating collision,” a Cincinnati Police spokesperson said Wednesday afternoon. “We’re treating this as a felony hit-and-run. Our priority right now is finding the person who left the scene.”
Speed and possible impairment are both under investigation. Detectives are canvassing the area for surveillance video and witnesses.
Jett, known to friends as “King,” was a familiar face in the neighborhood and worked as a delivery driver. Family members described him as a devoted father who was simply heading home after a late shift when his life was cut short.

West 8th Street was closed for several hours while crash reconstruction teams processed the scene. The investigation remains active.
