HOLYOKE, Mass. — The Holyoke community is mourning the loss of William “Bill” Brunault, who tragically died following a motorcycle accident on Monday, August 25, 2025, at the intersection of Lyman and North Bridge Street.

Brunault, known affectionately as Bill, Williard, or Willie, was transported to the hospital after the crash, but despite emergency efforts, he did not survive.
Remembered as a free spirit with a zest for life, Brunault leaves behind his daughter, Carly Brunault, who recalls her father’s adventurous nature. One of her fondest memories is from the 1980s, when he competed against 280 bikers in a 50-mile dirt bike race in Manchester, Vermont — and took home first place.
Friends say Brunault was a man defined by kindness and loyalty. Bobbie Kelley, a friend of more than 30 years, said he never let a gathering end without hugs and reminders to “drive safe.” Donald Orchutt, a lifelong friend, remembered him as someone who “would give you the shirt off his back” and always put others first.
A beloved figure in the local motorcycle community, Brunault was also a familiar face at The Clover in Holyoke, where his absence is already being deeply felt.
