Honolulu, HI – A large police response was triggered in downtown Honolulu on Thursday following an officer-involved shooting near the intersection of Punchbowl Street and Beretania Street.
According to the Honolulu Police Department (HPD), one individual was transported to the hospital. Officials have not disclosed the extent of the person’s injuries or released their identity.

The incident brought a heavy police presence around The Queen’s Medical Center, causing significant traffic delays in one of Honolulu’s busiest districts. Motorists are being advised to use alternative routes while the investigation continues.
