The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) has arrested a Houma man in connection with a shooting that unfolded Monday night outside a local business on Martin Luther King Blvd.
Sheriff Tim Soignet confirmed that Kyle Kenneth Stine III was taken into custody following a brief vehicle pursuit and faces multiple felony charges stemming from the violent encounter.

According to investigators, the shooting occurred shortly after 8:00 p.m. on October 27, when deputies responded to reports of gunfire in a parking lot along the busy commercial stretch. Witnesses told officers that a man driving a dark-colored Cadillac sedan fired several shots at a white SUV as it exited the area.
Deputies later spotted a vehicle matching that description speeding on Martin Luther King Blvd. After a short chase, the suspect was stopped in the 3500 block of Highway 311 and arrested without further incident. A loaded firearm was found inside the vehicle and seized as evidence.
Detectives later located the targeted SUV and its occupants at a local hospital. The male passenger suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the arm, while the female driver—identified as Stine’s estranged wife—escaped injury.
Authorities said the investigation revealed that Stine allegedly confronted his wife and her male companion before opening fire as they tried to drive away. At least three vehicles were struck by bullets during the altercation.
Stine has been charged with two counts of Attempted Second-Degree Murder, Aggravated Flight from an Officer, and three counts of Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property. He is being held at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex on a $2 million bond.
Sheriff Soignet praised his deputies for their quick response, saying,
“Our team acted swiftly to bring a dangerous situation under control and ensure the safety of our community. Incidents of gun violence are taken extremely seriously, and this case shows our ongoing commitment to protecting Terrebonne Parish residents.”
The investigation remains active as detectives continue to collect evidence and interview witnesses. The victims’ names are being withheld pending further developments.
