A quiet suburban street in Melbourne’s northeast has become the center of a major police investigation after a man in his 20s was found dead with gunshot wounds outside a home in Ivanhoe on Tuesday evening.

Emergency services were called to Linden Avenue around 6 p.m. following reports of a man lying in a driveway with critical injuries. Despite the efforts of first responders, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Treating Death as Suspicious
Victoria Police confirmed that Homicide Squad detectives are now leading the investigation, with the man’s death being treated as suspicious. While the official cause of death is yet to be formally determined, investigators believe the victim suffered lethal gunshot wounds.
Forensic teams cordoned off the area on Tuesday night, with officers scouring the scene for evidence and conducting door-to-door inquiries. Detectives are working to establish the events leading up to the fatal shooting.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed unusual activity in the area or has CCTV or dashcam footage from Linden Avenue around the time of the incident to come forward.
