Jamaica is reeling from the tragic news of the passing of Tyra Spaulding, a 26-year-old finalist in the 2023 Miss Universe Jamaica pageant.

Authorities confirmed that Tyra was found deceased at her home on Tuesday evening in what is being investigated as a suspected suicide. Police reports indicate the investigation is ongoing.
The Miss Universe Jamaica Organisation expressed heartbreak at the loss, remembering Tyra as more than just a contestant. “She was a vibrant, intelligent, and inspiring young woman whose grace and spirit touched everyone she met,” the organisation said in a statement.
