SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. — The Jasonville community is mourning the loss of Tammy Samm, 50, who tragically died in a car crash Monday morning on County Road 650 North.
The accident occurred around 10:40 a.m., when deputies with the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office discovered Samm entrapped in her vehicle. Despite lifesaving efforts from emergency personnel, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said the driver of the second vehicle, 24-year-old Luke Passmore of Shelburn, sustained minor injuries and was treated at Sullivan County Hospital. Investigators noted that neither drugs nor alcohol are suspected factors in the crash.
The Indiana State Police are conducting a crash reconstruction to determine the exact cause of the collision.
Samm, remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the joy she brought to those around her, was a cherished member of the Jasonville community. Friends, family, and neighbors describe her as a loving presence whose life touched many.
Her family has asked for privacy as they grieve the sudden loss of a woman who will be deeply missed.
