JOHNSTOWN, N.Y. — A bright light in Fulton County went dark Friday night when 34-year-old Alicia Corbett was killed in a violent two-car collision on State Highway 30A near the Gloversville line.
New York State Police say the crash happened just after 8 p.m. when a northbound pickup truck crossed the center line and struck Alicia’s sedan head-on. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, a 22-year-old Gloversville man, was airlifted to Albany Med in critical condition.

Within hours, the intersection was transformed into a growing memorial of flowers, candles, and handwritten notes that read “Forever our sunshine.”
Alicia grew up on South Perry Street, graduated Johnstown High in 2009, and never really left. Friends say she was the one who organized the annual Thanksgiving potluck, remembered every birthday, and still volunteered at the senior center bingo nights because “those ladies make me laugh harder than anyone.”
She worked the front desk at St. Mary’s Urgent Care, where patients asked for her by name because she never rushed them and always slipped an extra sticker to the kids.
“She could turn a bad day around with one hug,” her younger sister Kaylee posted through tears. “Now we have to figure out how to live in a world without them.”
Saturday morning, dozens of friends in purple hoodies (Alicia’s favorite color) gathered at the crash site, held hands, and released purple balloons into the gray November sky.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 6 at 11 a.m. at the Johnstown Moose Lodge. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Johnstown Little League equipment fund—Alicia coached T-ball every summer and kept a trunk full of spare gloves for kids who couldn’t afford
their own.
“Be extra kind to somebody today,” her best friend wrote online. “That’s what Alicia would do.”
