In the early morning hours of November 8, 2024, Utica Police and Fire units responded to multiple shooting incidents.
At 12:30 a.m., responders found a male victim with a gunshot wound to the abdomen at 822 South St. The victim was rushed to Wynn Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery and remains in critical but stable condition. Investigators determined an unknown assailant wearing a mask entered the establishment, shot the victim, and fled.
Shortly after, around 1:00 a.m., a ShotSpotter alert indicated multiple gunshots on Faxton St. Officers found two victims: a male with gunshot wounds to his back and a 19-year-old female, Key Amonie, with chest injuries. Despite efforts, Key Amonie succumbed to her injuries; the male victim
remains hospitalized in stable condition.
Another ShotSpotter alert at 3:30 a.m. indicated multiple gunshots in the 1500 block of Howard Ave. Officers discovered several rounds fired into a residence while occupants, including children, were asleep; fortunately, none were injured.
The Utica Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division and Major Crimes Unit are investigating potential connections between the incidents. Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward.
