KNOX COUNTY, Ky. — The Knox County community is grieving the tragic death of 44-year-old Priscilla Jones, who was fatally attacked by a pack of dogs on Friday, August 30, in the Flat Lick area.

The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. while Jones was walking along Sandy Branch. Authorities said an acquaintance, who heard her screaming for help, immediately called 911. First responders from the East Knox Fire Department arrived on the scene to find Jones severely injured and unable to communicate. She was transported by Knox County EMS to Barbourville ARH Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The Barbourville Police Department assisted at the scene.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that multiple dogs were involved in the attack and described the case as part of an ongoing investigation. Officials are urging anyone with information regarding the dogs or the circumstances surrounding the incident to come forward to assist law enforcement.
This tragic event has left the Flat Lick community shaken. Residents have expressed concern about stray or uncontrolled animals in the area and are calling for heightened safety measures. Local authorities continue to investigate the incident and are reminding community members to remain vigilant while walking in the area.
