Leesville, SC – The Leesville and Lexington County communities are mourning the sudden loss of 17-year-old George Hall Gomez Jr., who died following a single-vehicle accident early Sunday morning on Jim Spence Road.

According to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher, Gomez was traveling southbound in the 1600 block of Jim Spence Road at approximately 5:25 a.m. on October 26, 2025, when he left the roadway and collided with a tree. Emergency responders transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities confirmed that Gomez was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
