A community in shock is mourning the loss of 15-year-old Liam Delemo, who was fatally stabbed at a house party in West Babylon, Long Island, Monday night.
According to Suffolk County Police, the stabbing occurred after a fight broke out at the home on Carlton Road, where a large gathering of teenagers had assembled. The altercation took place outside the house, and Delemo was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, where he was later pronounced dead.

The homeowner, 70-year-old Bonnie Miranda, is facing charges of social hosting and endangering the welfare of a child. Police say she allowed her grandchild to host the party at her residence. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection to the stabbing itself.
In response to the tragedy, West Babylon High School announced that it would open late on Tuesday, and the school’s Student Services Department will be available to support students and staff affected by the loss. The entire community has been left heartbroken by the senseless violence.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety of large, unsupervised gatherings, with many questioning the responsibilities of both parents and party hosts in preventing such tragedies.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
