Little Rock Community Mourns the Sudden Passing of Pulaski Academy’s Matt Pulley

LITTLE ROCK, AR — The Pulaski Academy and greater Little Rock community are mourning the loss of Matt Pulley, 49, who passed away suddenly on August 25, 2025. Beloved husband, father, and colleague, Matt was known for his warm heart, unwavering faith, and dedication to others.

Matt is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, their son Tyler, a senior at Pulaski Academy, and daughter Maddy Kate, a junior at Ouachita Baptist University. For nearly two decades, he served as Assistant Head of Enrollment at Pulaski Academy, where his welcoming presence and friendly smile were often the first impression families received of the school.

A school statement noted, “For the last 18 years, Assistant Head of Enrollment Matt Pulley’s welcoming demeanor and big smile have been among the first memories many families have of Pulaski Academy. Our hearts are heavy as we grieve the loss of Matt, a father, husband, friend, and colleague who left an indelible mark at PA.”

Tributes from families, students, and colleagues reflect the profound impact Matt had on those around him. One parent shared, “Matt is the reason my girls attend PA. His heart for students and the PA community let us know we were in the right place. He was a beautiful human, and the depth of your loss is unfathomable.”

Known for his joy, humility, and genuine nature, Matt’s laughter and sense of humor could brighten any room. His faith in Jesus guided his life, reflected in his compassion, integrity, and dedication to family. Beyond his work and family life, Matt was an enthusiastic Baylor football fan, sharing his passion with those who knew him.

In response to his passing, the community has rallied around the Pulley family. A fundraiser has been established to support Elizabeth, Tyler, and Maddy Kate during this difficult time, allowing friends, colleagues, and church members to honor Matt’s legacy of love and generosity.
