FRESNO — Authorities initiated lockdowns at Clovis North High School and Granite Ridge Intermediate on Thursday afternoon following a reported threat to the campus, sparking concern among students, staff, and parents.
The Fresno Police Department said they responded to the Clovis North Educational Center at about 1:40 p.m. after receiving information about a possible threat directed toward the campus. Law enforcement and school officials swiftly implemented a lock-in protocol while officers cleared the premises.

Inside Granite Ridge, students were instructed to remain in darkened classrooms, huddled quietly as staff guided them through safety procedures. The image circulating from inside shows classrooms in darkness, with students gathered closely under teacher direction.
According to police, the lockdown was a precautionary measure. At the time of reporting, no injuries had been confirmed, and no active threat was found during searches of both schools.
Community members were urged to steer clear of the area while investigators carried out their work. Officials from the Clovis Unified School District coordinated with law enforcement to preserve campus safety and to communicate updates.
