Logan Hansen, a 15-year-old student at Bingham High School in South Jordan, Utah, tragically passed away in a house explosion on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. The blast, which occurred around 3 p.m., completely destroyed the home, leaving only charred debris by the next morning.
Logan was found inside the wreckage after a thorough search. Authorities, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), are investigating the cause of the explosion, but it may take time to determine.

The explosion also affected neighboring homes, with debris scattered as far as rooftops, prompting evacuations and moderate damage to adjacent houses. South Jordan’s mayor has offered condolences and support to the grieving family and community.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Logan’s family with essential needs, such as clothes, hygiene products, food, and a new home. All funds raised will go directly to Josh and Branda.
Logan’s family will announce funeral arrangements and an obituary at a later date.
