SINGAPORE — A traffic accident on the East Coast Parkway (ECP) heading towards the city caused significant congestion on Wednesday evening, with tailbacks stretching as far as Changi Coast Road, according to the Land Transport Authority (LTA).
The collision, which occurred after Fort Road in Lane 2, prompted emergency services and recovery teams to respond swiftly to the scene. Authorities have urged motorists to avoid the affected lane while crews work to clear the roadway.

Traffic cameras showed a heavy buildup of vehicles across multiple stretches of the expressway, with city-bound commuters experiencing long delays during peak travel hours.

Drivers are advised to consider alternative routes or use public transport to bypass the affected area. Those traveling towards Marine Parade, Mountbatten, or the Central Business District (CBD) should factor in additional travel time.
“Motorists are advised to avoid Lane 2 and follow the instructions of on-site officers as recovery operations continue,” LTA said in an update.
