According to preliminary reports from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, the incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. near the intersection of the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway and O’Meara Road. Investigators say Simone had just exited a taxi and was standing along the eastbound lane when she was suddenly struck by a white vehicle.

The driver reportedly sped away from the scene without stopping to help, prompting an active police search for the suspect. Authorities are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage to come forward and assist with the investigation.
