The Maloney community is in mourning following the tragic death of 45-year-old Simone Rose, who was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Tuesday morning.

According to preliminary reports from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, the incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. near the intersection of the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway and O’Meara Road. Investigators say Simone had just exited a taxi and was standing along the eastbound lane when she was suddenly struck by a white vehicle.
The driver reportedly sped away from the scene without stopping to help, prompting an active police search for the suspect. Authorities are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage to come forward and assist with the investigation.
Family and friends describe Simone as a kind-hearted and vibrant woman who always had a smile to share. Her untimely death has left loved ones devastated and a community shaken.
