MOBILE, Ala. — Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help after a man was found shot to death on a vacant lot in the city’s Maysville community early Saturday morning.
Officers responded to the 1800 block of Mott Drive South just before 7:40 a.m. on November 23, 2025, after a passerby reported seeing a body. When police arrived, they discovered 32-year-old Marcel Miller suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say there are no suspects in custody and the motive remains under investigation.
“This was a senseless act of violence that took a young man’s life,” a Mobile Police spokesperson said Monday. “We need anyone who saw or heard anything in that area overnight Friday into Saturday to come forward.”
Miller’s death marks the latest in a string of weekend shootings in Mobile. Family members have started a small memorial of candles and balloons at the site.
Anyone with information is urged to call the Mobile Police Department at 251-208-7211 or send an anonymous text tip to 844-251-0644.
The investigation is ongoing.
