Born on July 1, 1939, in Marion, Ohio, Margie was the cherished daughter of the late William and Linna Irey. From an early age, she displayed the compassion, determination, and zest for life that would come to define her. Her roots in Marion remained an essential part of who she was, and throughout her life she exemplified the values of faith, family, and resilience.
On May 5, 1977, Margie married the love of her life, Vernon “Butch” Worcester, in Tennessee. Their marriage was one of deep devotion, shared laughter, and mutual support. Together, they created a home filled with joy and hospitality until Butch’s passing on July 26, 2020. Though his absence was deeply felt, Margie carried forward their shared love with grace and strength, continuing to nurture her family and honor the life they had built together.
Margie was known not only as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother but also as a spirited friend to many. She had an infectious sense of humor and an adventurous soul, always eager to explore new places, meet new people, and create lasting memories.
