Maryville Man, James Brooks, Dies in Tragic Single-Vehicle Crash on Hall Road
Authorities in Alcoa are investigating a devastating single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of 36-year-old James Brooks of Maryville, Tennessee, on Monday afternoon.

According to the Alcoa Police Department (APD), emergency crews were dispatched to Hall Road near Fulton Street at around 5:15 p.m. after reports of a vehicle crash with injuries. Responding units from APD, the Alcoa Fire Department (AFD), and American Medical Response (AMR) arrived to find a heavily damaged truck that had collided with a tree in the median before coming to rest in the northbound lanes.

Investigators say Brooks was traveling northbound when his vehicle veered off the roadway for reasons still under investigation. First responders discovered him unresponsive inside the truck. He was rushed to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The APD reconstruction team continues to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Alcoa Police Department at 865-981-4111 and request to speak with Lieutenant Daniel Brooks (no relation to the victim).
