McComb police are investigating a deadly shooting that left 43-year-old Rodney Terrell James dead early Friday morning.
The incident occurred around 4 a.m. on September 26, 2025, at the Blue Sky gas station located in the 1600 block of Delaware Avenue.

Responding officers found James lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the chest. Despite immediate efforts by first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to a preliminary investigation, James was involved in an altercation with another man shortly before the shooting. Authorities say they have identified a suspect or person of interest connected to the case.
The investigation remains active as police continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses.
