Craig and Meghan Miller, along with their four children, were returning home on November 13, 2024, when they were involved in a severe head-on collision that occurred just three miles from their residence. The impact caused both vehicles to ignite.

The Rio Rancho Police Department reported that the Rio Rancho Dispatch Center received a “vehicle-based crash activation notification pinging” in the Sandoval County area at approximately 5:30 p.m. The officers who responded discovered a vehicle collision that was “engulfed in flames.” The occupants of both vehicles received assistance from the Rio Rancho Police Department and Rio Rancho Fire Rescue.
36-year-old Craig, 11-month-old Laila (just days away from her first birthday), and their unborn son passed away in the crash. Their 6-year-old son, Craig Jr. (Craigger), was in critical condition and was placed on comfort measures. He was said to have later succumbed to his injuries’, while Meghan and her two surviving children are hospitalized with multiple injuries.
This devastating loss occurs less than three years after the Millers lost their beloved daughter, Lillie, in December 2021. Meghan and her sons are currently confronted with a protracted, arduous process of recuperation—both physically and emotionally.
