MILWAUKEE — A 27-year-old man was gunned down late Tuesday night on the city’s northwest side, marking another deadly shooting in a neighborhood plagued by gun violence.
Milwaukee Police responded to the area of North 52nd Street and West Lloyd Street just after 10:20 p.m. on November 25, 2025, for reports of shots fired. Officers found Austin L. Hanson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives say the shooting appears targeted, but no suspects are in custody and a motive has not been released.
“This is a tragic loss of a young life,” a Milwaukee Police spokesperson said Wednesday. “We’re asking anyone who saw or heard anything to come forward.”
Friends who gathered at a growing memorial of candles and balloons Wednesday night described Hanson as a laid-back father of two who loved music and was trying to turn his life around.
“He didn’t deserve this,” said childhood friend Marcus Tate. “Austin was funny, always smiling. Whoever did this took a dad from his kids.”
