MINSTER, Ohio — The Minster community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Connor William Collins, who passed away Monday, September 1, 2025, at the age of 18.

Born March 10, 2007, in Fairfield, Ohio, Connor was the beloved son of Ted and Stephanie (Olding) Collins. He is also remembered with love by his sister Alexa, grandparents Mike and Shirley Olding and Ellen Collins, great-grandmother Irene Woehrmyer, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.
A member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Connor was a 2025 graduate of Minster High School, where he excelled both academically and athletically. He was active on the Track and Cross Country Teams and also played CYO basketball, with basketball being his greatest passion. Family and friends fondly recall his countless hours on the court, whether in competition or simply shooting hoops in the driveway.
At the time of his passing, Connor had just embarked on a promising new chapter as a computer science student at the University of Cincinnati, where he was eager to pursue a career in technology.
Beyond sports and academics, Connor enjoyed music, following his favorite teams, and spending quality time with family and friends. He was described by those closest to him as a fun-loving, caring young man with a remarkable sense of humor and a gift for making others laugh. His kindness, positivity, and genuine personality left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Services to honor Connor’s life will be held with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 8, 2025, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Minster, followed by burial in St. Augustine Cemetery. Visitation will take place at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster, on Sunday, September 7, from 2 to 6 p.m. and again on Monday from 9 to 9:30 a.m.
