The Tupelo community is mourning the loss of Conrad Riley Becker, a 21-year-old Mississippi State University student whose life was tragically cut short on September 24, 2025.

Born on December 6, 2003, in Tupelo, Mississippi, Conrad was the son of Rachel Prater Becker and Robert Conrad Becker. Despite his young age, he was remembered as a compassionate, faith-driven, and deeply cherished young man who left an enduring impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
A Bright Academic Path
Conrad’s educational journey began at Tupelo Christian Preparatory School, where he attended from 2008 until 2019. He later transferred to Tupelo High School, graduating proudly with the Class of 2022. His teachers and classmates admired both his intellect and his ability to encourage and uplift others.
At Mississippi State University, Conrad pursued a degree in Cyber Security, a field that reflected his sharp mind and his desire to make a meaningful impact in an increasingly digital world.
A Life of Faith and Service
Conrad’s Catholic faith was central to his identity. A lifelong member of St. James Catholic Church, he was deeply involved in parish activities, youth ministry, and retreats such as CYO and VISION at Notre Dame University. His faith guided his outlook on life, shaping him into a young man committed to service, humility, and compassion.
A Passion for Life and Sports
Though he did not formally participate in school athletics, Conrad was an enthusiastic lover of sports and the outdoors. He enjoyed wake surfing, snow skiing, basketball, golf, and pickleball, often sharing these experiences with friends and family. Summers at Alpine Camp for Boys in Alabama nurtured his love for nature and adventure.
Friends and family recall him as a natural peacemaker — someone who could diffuse conflict with grace and bring people together through his humor, kindness, and calm presence. Despite his loyalty to Mississippi State, he also carried a soft spot for the Alabama Crimson Tide, a contradiction that those close to him say reflected his fun-loving spirit.
Family and Legacy
Conrad is survived by his parents, his grandparents George Robert and Marlene Becker, siblings Robert Alan DuBose (Kristen), Matthew Becker, Jennifer DuBose, Nicole Becker Rollins (Joshua), and Danielle Becker, along with nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jerry Ann Prater and Billy Robert Prater.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, beginning with a Holy Hour of silent prayer at 3:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 4:00 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church. Burial will take place at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Cemetery in Saltillo, Mississippi.

Those closest to Conrad describe him as encouraging, thoughtful, and wise beyond his years — a young man who radiated joy and whose smile could brighten any room. His sudden passing is a heartbreaking reminder of life’s fragility, but his legacy of faith, love, and kindness will live on in the lives of those he touched.
